Kim Richards Goes From Real Housewife to Rehab

According to the New York Post, reality star Kim Richards, 47, is joining the list of celebrities heading to rehab. The star, who is the aunt of Paris Hilton and a regular on “Real Housewives of Beverley Hills,” has openly discussed her abuse of alcohol on the show.

Before her stint on "Real Housewives," Richards was a child actress. She has starred in Disney's "Escape to Witch Mountain" and guest starred on "The Love Boat," "Diff'rent Strokes," and "The Dukes of Hazzard." Her most recent gig has been playing the role of mother in the 2006 film "Blake Snake Moan" starring Samuel L. Jackson and Christina Ricci.

Richards’ family has checked her into rehab after a dispute with her half sister, Kyle Richards, who also stars on the show. During the broadcasted dispute, Kyle Richards attacked her sister saying, "you act like an insane person. You are a liar and sick and an alcoholic. That's right. I said it and now everybody knows."

Another housewife, Brandi Glanville, accused Richards of using Crystal Meth in a bathroom all night.

On twitter, Richards said, “for someone who doesn’t know me personally to outright accuse me of using crystal meth leaves me bewildered ... Drug abuse isn’t something you just throw around as a jab.”

"I told the others that night, that I had just left my doctor's for treatment of my anxiety and panic disorder ... He had given me medication for it ... I’ll be the first to admit that I have struggled in the past with certain vices; but I have never in my life, EVER, used crystal meth. I have discussed openly my issues with alcohol. As many of you know, sobriety is a lifetime process," She tweeted.

Russell Armstrong, the husband of Taylor Armstrong, who also stars on “Real Housewives,” committed suicide earlier this year. Rumors are swirling in Reality TV magazine that the show’s producers have forced Richards into rehab, not wanting to see another incident like Armstrong.

The star is receiving treatment at an undisclosed location.
