'King of the Hill' Reboot News: Pamela Adlon Open to Returning to Animated Series

Pamela Adlon recently said she is open to reprising her role as Bobby Hill on "King of the Hill."

Fox confirmed in August that they are in early talks of with "King of the Hill" creators to revive the animated comedy series. It looks like the voice of Bobby herself is on board with the idea of a reboot after a recent interview.

Speaking with TVLine, Adlon was asked if she would jump at the opportunity of participating in the revival of Fox's "King of the Hill." "Of course I would!" Adlon stated. "It would be the greatest thing in the world. I feel I learned so much about writing, and about the way I want to make television ... from 'King of the Hill.' 'King of the Hill' is my jam."

"King of the Hill" aired from 1997 to 2009 with a total of 29 episodes. The series received several recognitions during its run, including two Emmy awards. It was also ranked as the second-longest airing animated series at the time.

Reports note that executives from Fox have already approached the "King of the Hill" co-creators Greg Daniels and Mike Judge and they are said to be excited about the possibility. It's worth noting, however, that this is just an exploratory idea. Fox still has not yet made any new announcements about the reboot, which means there is also a chance the series may never make a return.

During the Television Critics Association's summer press tour last month, Fox CEO Dana Walden hinted at where the show may focus on should it return to the small screen.

"Given what's going on in the country [under President Trump]," Walden stated, "I think they have a point of view about how those characters would respond. But it was one meeting. I hope to revisit it."

Fox has yet to announce a release date for the "King of the Hill" reboot.
