'Kingdom Hearts 3' Release Date, News: Sora Is a Strong Symbol of Tetsuya Nomura's Vision

Sometimes when creating a game, one must have connections with big companies to ensure that the audience targeted becomes wider, creating a larger return on investment. In that endeavor; however, there are times that others would try to dictate what the creator should do, and if not for Tetsuya Nomura's headstrong character and will, the world will not get to know Sora of "Kingdom Hearts."

In an interview with Final Fantasy Dream translated by KH13, Nomura shared that he fought for Sora to become the main protagonist of the game as is in his vision. He did not falter and succumb to the opinions and pressures of others, which is why Sora was born.

At first, Disney wanted Nomura to make either Donald or Mickey the main character of the game, which he refuted. "I showed them [Disney] a design, and it turns out that I often do not listen too much to what people are telling me. So I said to them: 'No, I do not want to do that', and finally it happened," Nomura said. "From there they did not continue too much to impose their ideas on me. Finally, I found it rather easy."

This proved to be a wise decision, as the "Kingdom Hearts" franchise quickly became established as a fan favorite, spanning a lot of installments. It has caught the fancy of many gamers, where despite little information on how "Kingdom Hearts 3" is going along, it is one of the top 10 most wanted games in a survey done by Famitsu.

The last clue that the last installment to the long saga is alive and well was when Nomura revealed a screenshot during the Magic 2017 last February. Even if it is not a solid report of what is to come, this gives fans the idea that it is currently in development, and waiting long would be worth it if it comes out well.

There is no official release date yet for "Kingdom Hearts 3," and fans will have to wait patiently.
