'Kingdom Hearts 3' Release Date Uncertainty Due to Square Enix Rule?
"Kingdom Hearts 3" fans are eagerly anticipating the release of the game, but rumor has it that a Square Enix rule is the reason why the release date is still uncertain.
As of now, "Kingdom Hearts 3" is already being developed, so fans are already excited for it to be rolled out. Until now, no definite release date has been announced, according to Christian Today.
Master Herald says Square Enix has a rule that gives fans a hint on the approximate release of a game title. "Final Fantasy" director Hajime Tabata had reportedly revealed the rule.
Tabata allegedly said that a Square Enix title's release date can only be determined once the game arrives at a specific development stage. Only then can the general release window be determined, but the specific rollout date is still up in the air, the report relays.
Since "Kingdom Hearts 3" was unveiled more than three years ago, there are speculations that the game is still in the later part of its development.
Meanwhile, game director Tetsuya Nomura announced that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will not be the end of the franchise. In a recent interview with NowGamer, he hinted that the title will continue on, Attack of the Fanboy reports.
"The discussion of the end of 'Kingdom Hearts' has never come up between me and Disney, so I don't know what their intentions are. But … this should be something that can't be accomplished by just Disney," Nomura told NowGamer. "It has to be something uniquely Kingdom Hearts. So it's a matter of how long can I keep creating for 'Kingdom Hearts!'"
Nomura also added that fans would probably enjoy the game more if it were a combination of Disney and his own efforts rather than Disney's initiative alone. He indicated that the game will be the property of both Square Enix and Disney forever.
"Kingdom Hearts 3" is set to be released for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in the near future. While the exact release date is yet to be announced, it is speculated to come out by 2017.
