'King's Game The Animation' Episode 5 Spoilers, Plot News: Is Ria Iwamura About to Change the Game?

She may have been nothing but a quiet presence in Nobuaki Kanazawa's memories before, but it seems that the mysterious silver-haired girl, Ria Iwamura, is about to play a more significant role in the protagonist's flashbacks on the next episode of the Japanese horror-mystery anime series, "Ousama Game The Animation (King's Game The Animation)."

The series has already established an ongoing pattern of featuring both Nobuaki's past and present efforts of getting to the bottom of the deadly King's Game. And it seems that the past and present narratives are about to take a significant turn.

Ria, the girl who seemed the most suspicious in Nobuaki's class in the past, has blatantly told the guy that the only way to stop the game was to end the King's life. And since it was Nobuaki who initiated the hunt for the King, it has now become the guy's responsibility to fulfill this task, lest more of their classmates will die.

She seemed to be very perceptive, and may well be the most level-headed member of the class. And despite her initial coldness, she also seemed to have taken an interest in Nobuaki's quest to take the King down.

How will Ria's involvement change Nobuaki's approach to the King's Game? Does Ria know the said Game more than she lets on? Could she have already played the Game in the past, and has thus gained a clearer idea of how to play it well?

On the other hand, Nobuaki's next step in the present is to visit an abandoned village where the King's Game was believed to have started thirty years ago. Together with his newfound allies, Kenta Akamatsu and Mizuki, they hope to find a clue that can help them defeat the Game before midnight strikes.

But will they be able to find what they are looking for in the village? Or will Mizuki's disobedience be punished on the next episode titled, "Wail"?

"King's Game The Animation" airs on Thursdays at 11:30 p.m. JST on AT-X. It also airs on Fridays late night at 1:40 a.m. JST on Tokyo MX and on Sundays late night at 1:30 a.m. JST on BS11. Information on other broadcast schedules and online resources can be found on the series' official site. Episodes will also be simulcast in selected regions outside Japan via Crunchyroll.
