Kirsten Bell Assures Fans That a 'Veronica Mars' Revival Series Is 'Going to Happen'
Kirsten Bell has an update for her fans about "Veronica Mars," and it's to shine some hope for a show revival. The star has assured fans that she will do all she can to make the series happen, even if it takes her decades.
It was Ryan Hansen, her friend and co-star, who got the ball rolling in the direction of the "Veronica Mars" reunion. Via a Facebook Live chat with Indie Wire, the actress promised that the will do all they can so that things work out for the show.
"We are willing to put the effort in — I mean, if I have to do it as 'Murder She Wrote' at 80, we're going to do it," Bell said. "It's going to happen," she added.
It was a conversation that veered off the topic of Ryan Hansen's new show on YouTube Red called "Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television," but since it has a lot of things common with "Veronica Mars," it's still a welcome piece of news for the fans of the girl detective series.
Bell is currently active with her role on NBC's "The Good Place," but she's always looking to bring back the blonde detective in some form, according to TV Line. In recent talks with series creator Rob Thomas, the future of "Veronica Mars" looks to be in a form of a limited-series run.
As the plan shapes up, the new mystery show looks to be a short season of about six hour-long episodes, at least to begin with.
"Kristen and I both want to figure out some way we could do a six-episode 'Veronica Mars' mystery," Thomas said. "If I were a betting man, I bet that it will happen. I just don't know when it will be," he added.
Both he and Bell agree that a "Veronica Mars" revival is less suited for a feature-length movie, as it "works better as an episodic" show delivered in brief installments.
