Klitschko Vs. Fury Fight News: Fury Claims Being Headbutted Entire Time During Fight, Klitschko Brother Says Rematch 'Will Be Huge'
World heavyweight champion Tyson Fury recently made claims about some alleged "dirty tactics" from Wladimir Klitschko during their title fight on Saturday night.
"Dr. Steelhammer's" brother, Vitali, on the other hand, believes that the rematch between the two "will be huge".
Fury was able to outpoint Klitschko during their fight in Dusseldorf, Germany, garnering a unanimous decision verdict with a tally of 115-112 on two cards, and 116-111 on the other.
With the victory, Fury now holds the WBO, WBC, IBF, and WBO world heavyweight titles, as he ended Klitschko's nine-year reign as champion. But despite the win, Fury claimed that his opponent used a good number of dirty tactics against him during the fight. Speaking to Sky Sports, the 27-year old British boxer detailed some of Klitschko's moves.
"He headbutted me all night and kept holding me," Fury said. "When did we see the referee warn him about taking a point off? He didn't."
Fury adds that despite the 'unjust' treatment, which he thought he received from the referee, he still believed that the decision victory would go to him, given the margin on the scorecards. He also says he outboxed his opponent for most of the match and that he only let him have a few rounds.
Meanwhile, elder brother Vitali Klitschko believes that Wladimir's mandated rematch against Fury would be another one for the books, adding that his younger kin's first loss since 2004 has created more interest among the general boxing public.
"The audience got used to the fact that Wladimir constantly wins all of his fights," Vitali said in a report by Boxingscene. "But now, in my opinion, the next fight will generate a ton of interest. Many experts have said that they did not recognize Wladimir [in that fight, because he did not look like his usual self]. I felt the same way, because Wladimir is one of the most skilful fighters in the world."
