Kobe Bryant 68 Points in 15 Minutes: 'I Was Just Having Fun' (VIDEO)

Kobe Bryant managed to score 68 points in a 15-minute span, bringing his team to victory after being down by the double digits.

The NBA Laker's player volunteered to play a game in Shanghai game as part of The Sprite China 2nd Annual Charity Basketball event. The game was broken down into two 15-minute periods and unlike in other games, Bryant's team was composed of nothing but famous stars and musicians from the surrounding area.

For the first half of the game, Bryant sat on the bench giving his fellow teammates a chance to shine. But after much of the crowd chanting for his name and a loss going into the double digits, the player decided it was time to step up and test his "stamina."

"We were now down 29!! I wanted to play it cool but what the heck, the place was packed with fans who'd sang an early happy birthday to me and really wanted to watch me go to work," Bryant said later explaining the game on his Facebook. "My teammates were down. "

In attempt to be a crowd pleaser and after pleas from his fellow teammates, Bryant decided to step in and save the day.

"I didn't want to disappoint them or the fans that had paid their hard earned money for a show so I took the challenge of really using the second half as a training session for my stamina," Bryant wrote. I ran and ran and ran. I wound up scoring 68 in the 2nd and we won."

For those not doing the math, that's a total of 68 points in only 15 minutes. But for Bryant, it was all in good fun.

"I was just having fun with all of them and loved hearing the crowd enjoy the show we put on," the player added.
