Kobe Bryant Expected Return Date for Los Angeles Lakers Revealed?
Kobe Bryant's team may have been blown out by the Los Angeles Clippers in a 123-87 loss, but Lakers fans can expect their All-Star veteran to return later this month.
Bryant, the 35-year-old Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard, is working to return to his team after suffering a knee fracture late last year. Mike D'Antoni, the Laker's head coach, said he hopes to see Bryant and the team's veteran point guard Steve Nash return on Jan 28 against the Indiana Pacers before the team goes away on a seven game road trip.
"Hopefully both of them are ready," D'Antoni said of the two star players in a Los Angeles Times report.
While Nash is coming back from a nerve injury in his back, the pair have only played six games apiece for their team this season due to injuries.
Bryant returned to the basketball court last December for the first time since Achilles tendon surgically repaired in April. After injuring his knee which has left him off the court in recent weeks, Bryant has denied that he returned to his professional sport from injury too early.
"I don't think one [injury] had anything to do with the other. I mean, we evaluated it pretty extensively," Bryant insisted, according to Sports Illustrated. "The fact of the matter is, any of us can get hurt at any moment. The key for us as athletes is to block that fear out, and when you have injuries that fear is enhanced."
The Lakers star insisted that his unfortunate injuries could happen to any athlete.
"You kind of put yourself under a microscope and you start thinking about it too much. It can happen to anybody," Bryant said. "So you just have to tune that noise out and go out there and perform."
