Kris Humphries Dad Reveals Thoughts On Kim Kardashian, Kanye West Engagement

Kim Kardashian may have recently gotten engaged to rap mogul boyfriend Kanye West, but her ex-husband Kris Humphries father has a few thoughts on the matter.

West, 36, asked 33-year-old Kardashian to marry him on her birthday Monday, four months after the pair had their first child. However, the reality television star was legally married to Humphries, the 28-year-old Boston Celtics forward until earlier this year.

The NBA player's father, William Humphries father, shared his thoughts about Kardashian's engagement weeks after her mother Kris Jenner announced her separation from husband Bruce Jenner.

"Well, if Bruce and Kris are any indication, I'd say good luck," Humphries told The New York Daily News. "She's stepping right into it all over again," the elder Humphries said.

While Humphries and West both purchased a Lorraine Schwartz engagement ring for Kardashian, the reality television star's former father-in-law does not believe West picked it out himself.

"(West) probably didn't choose it," Humphries told The Daily News. "Does a leopard really change its spots? I don't think so. Not much changes, it's just different actors this time around."

Despite his comments, the elder Humphries insists that he wishes the newly engaged couple the best of luck while his son is focused on basketball.

"I don't really care, it's water under the bridge," he told the Daily News. "I'm sure (Kris) doesn't think about that stuff anymore. He's getting ready to play."

Kardashian and Humphries split up 72 days after marrying in 2011, but the latter refused to dissolve the marriage until earlier this year.

Kardashian previously spoke about why the divorce process took so long.

"I can't really speak for him. I think the facts are I filed for divorce, he's suing me for an annulment and the only legal way to ever get an annulment is if there is fraud involved," Kardashian previously explained before her divorce was granted while on Shade 45's radio show "Sway In The Morning." "So he is claiming that I (defrauded) him to marry him for publicity. To me, who would ever do that? He was someone that I loved a lot but you can love someone a lot and realize they're not the right person for you. I would have rather ended it when I felt that way than waste a year of my life not being happy."

Later, Kardashian opened up about her positive feelings for both herself and her ex-husband.

"I'm just glad for Kris and I both, that we can just move on," Kardashian told Extra TV.

"Ultimately, we just wanted the same thing so I'm glad that we could come up with an agreement and move on for both of us."
