Kristen Stewart Stands By Cheating on Robert Pattinson? Actress Welcomes Critics to 'Judge Away'

Kristen Stewart recently opened up about her personal life in a candid interview, nearly two years after her infamous affair with a married man.

The "Twilight" star, 23, split up with Robert Pattinson, 27, last year after five years of dating and while her 2012 tryst with filmmaker Rupert Sanders caused their breakup, she stands by her actions. Stewart admitted that she lives a "fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants lifestyle" and defiantly encouraged her critics to "judge away."

"I stand by every mistake I've ever made," Stewart told Marie Claire magazine. "So judge away."

The "Camp X Ray" actress was photographed during her tryst with Sanders, who was married with two children at the time, and when the photos were made public she issued a public apology to Pattinson. The exes met on the 2008 set of "Twilight."

"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected," she wrote in a statement obtained by People magazine at the time.

"This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry," she added.

In her recent interview Stewart went on to admit that she "had no idea Twilight was going to be huge" or that she and the British actor would fall in love. The pair reunited in October for the first time since their split and they are believed to be on friendly terms.

"You don't know who you will fall in love with. You just don't. You don't control it. Some people have certain things, like, 'That's what I'm going for,' and I have a subjective version of that," she explained.

"I don't pressure myself … If you fall in love with someone, you want to own them – but really, why would you want that? You want them to be what you love," she continued. "I'm much too young to even have an answer for that question."

The Hollywood star also revealed her desire to have children and become a mother one day, but she emphasized that she has no plans to do so in the near future.

"I had it too good to not have that, too. If I were to put money on it, definitely, yeah," she said of having children. "But you earn that, like, that's so not here yet. I mean, at this point, I can't tell you if I want to hang out on Saturday."
