Kristin Chenoweth Reduced to Tears After American Airlines Abuse
Kristin Chenoweth was reportedly the victim of airline abuse after boarding an American Airlines flight from Dallas to L.A..
The Emmy award-winning actress was allegedly reduced to tears when a flight attendant accused her of not completing the correct paperwork to bring her pet Maltese dog on board. The flight attendant in question supposedly erupted before several passengers and scolded Chenoweth when she insisted that her paperwork was correct, according to TMZ.com.
"American Airlines: Dallas flight attnt supervisor Ms. Kidwell. Abuse not okay. #tripfromhell," Chenoweth tweeted after the flight.
Eventually American Airlines acknowledged its error and Chenoweth and her service dog Maddie were able to board the flight.
The airline immediately reached out to the actress, 43, following the backlash received after Chenoweth's complaint on Twitter.
"We have been in touch with Ms. Chenoweth to offer our apologies for the misunderstanding. We refunded the [$125] cabin pet charge as soon as we realized the mistake. We hope she will consider flying American again in the future," an American Airlines rep said.
"The Good Wife" star has had Maddie since July, the same month she was hospitalized after suffering a head injury on the set of the CBS drama. She had scored a recurring role as a political reporter.
The accident occurred during filming when a gust of wind knocked over lighting equipment, which subsequently hit Chenoweth on the head. After falling to the ground, the actress was transported to hospital by ambulance and later fitted with a neck brace.
The injury eventually forced Chenoweth to temporarily leave the show before returning in September.
"It is with deep regret to inform everyone that due to my injuries, I am unable to return to 'The Good Wife' at this time," Chenoweth told People in a statement. "Getting better slowly and thank you everyone for your concern."
