Kylie Minogue Joins UK Version of 'The Voice' as Judge

Kylie Minogue will be joining the U.K. version of "The Voice" as a coach next year.

The BBC confirmed her acquisition on Wednesday and will be working with Will.i.am and Tom Jones for the show's third season.

"Grammy award-winner Kylie has had worldwide record sales of more than 68 million and was given an Order of the British Empire for services to music," the BBC said. "With 10 world tours, 11 successful albums and over 50 hit singles internationally, Kylie is well placed to use her expertise to find and nurture new and exciting vocal talent."

"I'm very excited to become a coach on The Voice UK. I love the concept of the show and have been an avid viewer of both series. The search for new talent is such an important aspect of the music industry, and The Voice UK gives us all a part to play in that. Will I be competitive? Probably more than even I imagine! Watch this space!" Minogue said in a release.

The show began to look for higher profile coaches after their rating fell after season one, where they were able to surpass Simon Cowell's "Britain's Got Talent." However, that rating of 9.21 million in 2012 dropped to 7.65 million in 2013.

Minogue's sister, Dannii, was a judge and coach on the U.K. and Australian versions of X Factor and enlisted the help of Kylie on a few occasions.

"In terms of pop royalty, it really doesn't get much better than Kylie," said Moira Ross of The Voice's production company Wall to Wall

Minogue has released 11 albums, and has more than 50 top singles.
