Lady Gaga Gives Away Half of All Her Money to Her Father

Lady Gaga is one of the world's most successful artists yet she doesn't own a home in New York City and she gives away half of all her money.

The New York Post is reporting Gaga splits her money with her father Joe Germanotta 50/50.

Her father receives the percentage due to their LLC's Team Love Child and Mermaid Music.

"There's really no justifiable sense to doing a 50/50 deal with anyone in your career, other than someone you're partners in a band with," said Josh Grier, an entertainment lawyer who represents Wilco and Elvis Costello. "Certainly no artist entering a management deal does anything close to that -- a commission is usually 15 to 20 percent."

Other famous involved celebrity father's include Jessica and Ashley Simpson's father, Joe, who was able to quit being a preacher and work full time for his daughter.

Britney Spears' father, Jaime, made $500,000 this summer running Britney's Femme Fatale Tour.

Gaga has a special relationship with her father due to his involvement with her quitting cocaine a few years ago.

"I'm married to my dad," she once said in an interview with Elle magazine, and speaks on her father's harsh but real words to get her right, "You're f**king up, kid."

She attributes the relationship rebuilding once she began making money as a performer. She told the Post they had a falling out after she dropped out of NYU and began experimenting with drugs.

Regarding making money a source close to Gaga said, "That helped substantially, I don't know that it's healthy," the source said. "As soon as she started earning money, [her father] said something to her like, 'What man wouldn't want you now that you're becoming so successful?’"

Christian Post reader, Keith Foster doesn't think there's anything wrong with their relationship, "I don't think it's so much -because- she's making money, it seems they had a strong relationship beforehand, and when she was down in her life [addicted to cocaine, etc] he helped her out of it. For instance, her song 'Speechless' is dedicated to her father."

Do you feel Gaga and her father's relationship is weird, or does he deserve her adoration for helping her?
