Lady Gaga Mocks Lindsay Lohan Over Jewelry Heist

Lady Gaga recently made light of Lindsay Lohan's theft debacle by mocking the actress on social networking site Twitter over a pair of earrings she was photographed wearing.

On Tuesday, Lohan tweeted a photograph of herself wearing diamanté earrings while attending a dinner outing, which prompted Gaga, who is a close friend, to make fun of the "Mean Girls" actress.

"@lindsaylohan ummmm are those my earrings??? this is awkward...:) kiss kiss chateau bunny," Gaga tweeted.

Although some critics assumed that Gaga, 26, was taking a malicious swipe at Lohan, it is understood that the singer was simply joking. The duo has a close-knit friendship and recently tweeted photos together from a sleepover that they had.

Gaga's tweet came shortly after Lohan, 25, was cleared in an alleged theft case involving a man named Sam Magid. He had initially told the LAPD that $100,000 in jewelry had been stolen from his Hollywood Hills home during a party that he hosted, but later backtracked when Lohan, who is his friend, was labeled a suspect.

The troubled actress slept at Magid's home after attending his house party and the following morning he discovered that someone had stolen $100,000 worth of watches and sunglasses from the residence, according to TMZ.com.

Despite recent reports that prosecutors were preparing to file charges against Lohan, they decided against it due to lack of evidence.

"We do not have sufficient evidence to prove this case beyond a reasonable doubt," Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Deborah L. Kranze wrote in the case evaluation, according to Reuters.

Lohan, who is currently on preparation following a separate 2011 jewelry theft case, is said to be thrilled after being cleared of any wrong doing.

"Lindsay is glad this matter has been cleared up so she can focus on her upcoming projects. It is unfortunate that many media outlets were quick to point fingers and jump to conclusions without having all the facts," Lohan's spokesman said in a statement.
