Lady Gaga Thanksgiving Special Gives ABC a Record Rankings Boost
Lady Gaga’s Thanksgiving special “A Very Gaga Thanksgiving” boosted ABC’s rankings, drawing an average of 5.4 million viewers to the channel.
The program, which was conceived and directed by Gaga herself, aired from 9.30 p.m. to 11 p.m. and averaged a 1.6/3 in the adults 18-49 demographic.
Compared to Beyonce’s music special last year, Gaga’s show was a 23 percent improvement in that age demographic and the total number of viewers increased by 1.3 million.
Thanks to Lady Gaga, ABC had its best Thanksgiving ratings since 2007.
However, Lady Gaga’s show did not draw the most people on Thanksgiving night. It was CBS, which showed a repeat of “The Big Bang Theory” at 8 p.m. which dream a 3.6/12 in the demo - and a total of 11.2 million viewers.
Following CBS was Fox which aired “Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas” and “Happiness is a Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown.”
NBC showed Dr Seuss movie “Horton Hears a Who” and “The 85th Anniversary of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade.”
