LaLa Anthony Explains Why Reality T.V. Hasn't Torn Marriage Apart
Lala Anthony, media personality, mother and wife to New York Knicks player Carmelo Anthony, recently spoke about how she avoided letting reality television ruin her marriage.
Although a number of marriages have dissolved after being showcased on reality television shows, 34-year-old Anthony recently spoke to Sister 2 Sister magazine about how she avoided the same fate as the star of the Vh1 series "Full Court Life."
"You don't want to give too much to where it can be destructive or hurt your relationship, so I'm always very conscious of that, but so far, we've done well with that," Anthony told Sister 2 Sister.
Last year, the wife, mother, media personality and actress also opened up about balancing her family and business endeavors by putting God at the beginning of it all.
"The balancing for me is just about prioritizing and I know that my family and God come first before anything else and everything kind of falls into place after that. As long as I have those things in order first everything else will fall into place and I really believe that," Anthony said on the faith-based radio station WVOX 1190 AM. "Women have been balancing for years between work, being a mom and doing it all...you have women with six or seven kids and have a full time job. I'm no different than the women before me who've been doing the same thing."
Anthony explained how she and her husband have remained close for 10 years.
"We just stay true and honest with each other and our stars have risen together, in a sense," Anthony told Sister 2 Sister. "So, it's been a great journey for the both of us."
The entertainer has spoken about the importance of not putting too much pressure on herself and focusing on God.
"I've been so blessed in my life to have so many things I'm not going to complain about working and having all this stuff going on, I'm just going to figure out a way to prioritize things and make things happen. I've also learned not to put too much pressure on myself if I can't accomplish everything in one day," Anthony said on WVOX 1190 AM. "But most importantly, what I've found through the years is that as long as I'm aligned with God and my family everything else will fall into place the way it's supposed to. So I focus my energy on those two things first and everything else falls in place."
