Lala Anthony Says Women Shouldn't Pursue Professional Athletes
Lala Anthony, media personality, mother and wife to New York Knicks player Carmelo Anthony, is revealing why women should not intentionally try to seek out relationships with professional athletes.
Anthony, 34, recently joined Arsenio Hall on his late night show, "Arsenio" to promote her new relationship book, "The Love Playbook." While on the show, she revealed her advice to women who are looking to marry wealthy athletes.
"You don't try to get a baller. Just be confident in yourself when you go out there and you'll attract great energy and you'll get the right kind of attention," Lala said on Arsenio. "Guys can tell when you're desperate and thirsty and sometimes guys use that for negative things."
Lala has been candid about her own relationship lately and revealed how she handles women who may be looking to involve themselves with her husband.
"They always get too close. I just think that's how some girls can be," she previously told talk show host Andy Cohen on the late night show "Watch What Happens Live." "As long as it's respectful, I can deal with it."
Still, the basketball wife admitted that she was not willing to let anyone cross any boundaries.
"There's a line of you going too far," she said on Cohen's show. "I definitely let them know."
Last year, Lala took to the talk show Bethenny where she opened up to host Bethenny Frankel about why she was not worried that her husband was being unfaithful to her.
"I'm just very secure in myself. I can't worry about what's happening on the road," Lala told Frankel. "I know our relationship. I know we have a great relationship. He's my best friend and that's what I put my energy on."
Although a number of marriages have dissolved after being showcased on reality television shows, Lala spoke about how she avoided the same fate as the star of the Vh1 series "Full Court Life."
"You don't want to give too much to where it can be destructive or hurt your relationship, so I'm always very conscious of that, but so far, we've done well with that," she told Sister 2 Sister magazine last year.
