Lamar Odom Explains Not Attending Kim Kardashian Proposal

Lamar Odom is opening up about why he did not attend the recent proposal to his sister-in-law Kim Kardashian at the hands of rap mogul Kanye West.

"I had something to do," he told TMZ when questioned about his absence from the event recently. "Maybe I had something personal to do."

Odom, the 33-year-old NBA free agent married to Kim's sister Khloe Kardashian, has made headlines in recent weeks for allegedly stepping out on his marriage and battling with a drug addiction that he allegedly only checked into a rehabilitation center for one day to treat. However, he previously refuted claims made by TMZ about an alleged addiction to crack-cocaine and Oxycontin.

After being questioned about his marital woes, Odom insisted that nothing out of the ordinary was taking place.

"Yes we talk like a normal family," he told the member of paparazzi.

Earlier in the day, Odom was approached while eating lunch at Sweet Butter Kitchen in Sherman Oaks, Ca, and did not shy away from responding when questioned about speaking to my wife. The NBA free agent referenced his wedding ring when speaking about Kardashian.

"Do you see my wedding ring on," Odom questioned the TMZ videographer firing questions at him.

He also responded when asked if he enjoyed being featured on Kardashian's reality television series.

"Of course I did," Odom told TMZ. "It almost won an Emmy!"

Kardashian has removed Odom's surname from hers on social media, but she is still sporting a wedding ring in recent pictures. However, the 29-year-old reality television star did open up about some marital woes the pair were experiencing on her show.

"There's a lot of emotional issues I think Lamar has. I do want to help or cater to Lamar but also, there's only so much anybody can take," Kardashian said on the show. "...Lamar is a very depressed person, which is sad but understandable for everything he's been through in his life. I do love Lamar with every ounce of who I am but it's really scary when someone's in such a deep low and you know they're kind of relying on you to get them out and you're trying and you're trying and you're trying and nothing's really working."
