Lamborghini Urus SUV Release Date, Specs, Price Rumors: Debut Set in December
Lamborghini is releasing its first-ever super sports utility vehicle. The Urus SUV will be revealed in the company's headquarters in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy on Dec. 4.
Lamborghini confirmed the SVU's debut at the recent motor show in Frankfurt. The luxury carmaker teased the Urus' arrival with a series of photos presented to its stakeholders.
"The Lamborghini Urus redefines possibilities, creating a class of its own: unprecedented SUV performance, luxury and versatility, with the distinctive dynamic design DNA of a Lamborghini super sports car," the press release stated.

Lamborghini, however, has yet to unveil the full specs of the SUV. But earlier press comments hinted that the Urus will be featured with a twin-turbocharged V8 engine with 650 horsepower.
It might also come with two models: a two-wheel drive and an all-wheel drive. Car enthusiasts, however, except that Lamborghini will release a plug-in hybrid model a year after the Urus' release.
Built around a similar platform as the Audi Q7 and the Bentley Bentayga, the Urus could likely carry a starting price of $200,000. Sale and delivery of the vehicle won't begin until mid-2018 in the U.K. while Australian and American consumers can expect to drive the Urus by late 2018 or early 2019.
It took Lamborghini five years to develop the Urus from a concept car that was hinted at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show to an actual vehicle for production. Observers at the Frankfurt event noted that the silhouette of the Urus suggested it might look like the Audi Q8.
Since the Audi Q8 is also entering production at the same time as Urus at the Lamborghini plant, the two vehicles might likely share parts as a cost-efficient measure. Thus, it won't be surprising if the Urus does have similarities with the Audi Q8 but car lovers won't know this for sure until the debut on Dec. 4.
