Lana Del Rey recently cleared up rumors claiming she denied a request made by Kanye West to perform live during his proposal to Kim Kardashian.

The "Young And Beautiful" singer, whose real name is Elizabeth Woolridge Grant, said that she did not deny a request allegedly made by West, 36, while signing autographs in Hollywood on Friday. The "Blood On The Leaves" rapper proposed to Kardashian on her 33rd birthday just four months after the couple welcomed the birth of their first child, North "Nori" West. West rented out AT&T Park in San Francisco for the over-the-top proposal, during which a 50-piece orchestra played Del Rey's hit song, which is from "The Great Gatsby" soundtrack, as background music.

"[Kanye] asked Lana to perform ... [she] politely declined, and didn't give any reason for not being able to perform," an unnamed source previously told RadarOnline.com.

"It was a very firm no from Lana and her camp. Kanye did try to push it, but didn't get anywhere," the source continued. "Kanye decided to hire an orchestra to perform the song for Kim, and he was much happier with how it turned out."

Kardashian, who is set to walk down the aisle for a third time, opened up about her recent engagement to West. The pair began dating in 2012 shortly after Kardashian filed for divorce from NBA star Kris Humphries.

"Complete surprise. I truly had no idea," Kardashian told Us Weekly magazine. "I was shaking the whole time. It was like an out-of-body experience."

West recently confirmed that he and the reality TV personality intend to wed in the Summer of 2014, but nothing has been finalized.

"We honestly haven't even had a moment to talk about it or even breathe," Kardashian said.

She also revealed that West will have full control of wedding planning and that the rapper can organize "whatever he wants" for their big day.
