LaTavia Roberson Says 'Beyonce Is My She-ro'

LaTavia Roberson, 32-year-old Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter formerly of the group Destiny's Child, says Beyonce Knowles is her hero.

The singer who currently appears on TV One's "R&B Divas" spoke about her feelings about the former lead singer of the group.

"She's like one of my she-ros. Real talk," Roberson told Bossip.com. "There's a fact that I hold onto, and that fact is that we were friends and we did grow up together. It was great to be able to tour the world and to experience that being that young with people that you actually knew."

Despite being replaced in the group, Roberson insists that leaving Destiny's child allowed her to take care of her sick grandparents.

"I was always okay, and I learned a lot during that time," she told Bossip.com. "What I learned the most is that, no matter what, God is always going to take care of me. I truly believe that."

Earlier this year Roberson cleared up rumors about her reason for leaving the popular award-winning group.

"I definitely did not quit," she revealed on "The Wendy Williams Show." "Who would quit Destiny's Child? That's insane."

Last year, Roberson revealed she is planning to write a tell-all book where she will speak about the group that made her famous. She explained why she has decided to write her book recently.

"I've heard things about me and I've heard rumors about myself. I do not mind being someone who will open up my life to any fans that I have about where I've really been," she told S2S magazine previously. "I'd rather they get it from the horse's mouth."

However, the singer who used to be in a group with Beyonce Knowles and Kelly Rowland said she will not shy away from speaking about her former situation with them.

"I'll definitely talk about my experiences in Destiny's Child and everything that happened in my life thereafter. I've been through some serious things," she told S2S magazine. "It's a testimony."
