Microsoft recently unveiled its Windows 10 last July, and now it has announced the release date of Office 2016!
The new Microsoft Office 2016 is said to be available for professional and home users next week, according to a post on Boy Genius Report. It was also revealed that Office's programs like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, and others have been revamped by the company.
According to a statement from Win Future, Office 2016 will have updates and improvements. "The innovation wave continues in Q2 with the release of E5 and Skype For Business and on-premise service will follow," the statement said.
The release of Office 2016 is said to be available for both PC and Mac users. Office teases on its official website that the features developed were "unmistakably designed for Mac." The website also said that the Office 2016 for Mac will come with new features like Retina support, multi-touch gestures, new templates, and overall face revamp.
The Verge was able to test the Office 2016 for Mac and said that the experience was satisfactory. "The new colorful option arrives alongside a dark theme for those who dislike the traditional look of Microsoft's Office apps," the site said. The Verge also said that Microsoft is improving every aspect, including the Outlook 2016 search, as well as its email delivery performance and other features. Office 2016 will also have updates with other commonly used Microsoft programs like Word and Excel.
The Wall Street Journal also said that the new Office will have a better sharing functionalities and multi-authoring features. The website also said that it will improve the collaborative work in Office, like simultaneous and real-time usage. This feature is only available before in Google Drive, so avid users of Office can now enjoy it on their device.
The new Microsoft Office will now be available this Sept. 22.
