'Law & Order: SVU' Season 15 Spoilers: B.D. Wong Returns in Psychological Thriller (TRAILER VIDEO)
"Law & Order: SVU" is all new tonight, and a favorite character played by B.D. Wong returns to help the team. It's the last episode before next week's season finale, which is bound to be emotional and will possibly bring another character back, at least one more time.
Tonight's episode, entitled "Thought Criminal," focuses on an entirely new area of sexual crimes. The Special Victims Unit decides to take a proactive approach to preventing sexual crimes and investigates Simon Wilkes, a popular photographer with a secret life. Wilkes' fantasies of abusing children and underage relationships are in his mind and are rather graphic, but do they constitute an actual crime?
Enter Dr. Huang, who is called in to help provide insight into Wilkes' fantasies, but his help is severely limited by the fact that there is no apparent physical victim. Does this mean that Wilkes will be allowed to continue his work and remain free, or will the SVU be able to locate a victim and put Wilkes away, theoretically preventing future crimes?
As the turbulent season comes to an end, more focus will be placed on Amaro, whose career is in jeopardy in next week's finale. He will turn to mentor John Munch, played by the iconic Richard Belzer, who is scheduled to make a guest appearance on the series. Also, Benson will once again be faced with a life-changing revelation.
When the team brings in a suspect accused of raping several tourists, Benson discovers that she has a very personal connection to him. Could it be the return of her brother, who was accused of raping a girl several seasons ago? He was found innocent then, but Benson's help nearly cost her her job. Or could it be the return of ex-boyfriend, Brian Cassidy? He once went undercover and may have done so again.
Now that "SVU" has been picked up for another season, the finale is likely to leave plenty of questions unanswered and viewers hanging on for another wild ride.
"Law & Order: SVU" airs Wednesday nights on NBC.
