'Law & Order SVU' season 17 spoilers: Somebody's returning to Rollins' life
Somebody is coming back and bringing another new character in "Law & Order: SVU" season 17.
The next season of Law & Order will show detective Rollins' sister (Lindsay Pulsipher) returning to her life. In addition to that, she will also bring a new character with her in the form of her mother, according to TV Guide.
In an interview, Law & Order: SVU executive producer Warren Leight told TV Guide that Rollins' sister and mother returned to show support. However, this will not be a good thing for her.

"Even if their intent is to be supportive, and I'm not even sure it is, her family showing up is not a great thing for her," said Leight. "Nothing good comes from seeing her sister or her mother."
One of the reasons for the return of Rollins' sister and mother could be the detective's upcoming baby. Although Leight did not confirm this, he did say viewers will know the real reason at the end of the premiere episode. In real life, Kelli Giddish is also pregnant, the report relays.
The return of Rollins' family members comes just after her partner and love interest detective Nick Amaro, played by Danny Pino, left. Amaro used to be the solid support for Benson and Rollins, and now that he is gone, there are some major changes in the plot, Carter Matt reports.
Not all television series succeed in evolving the story over a long period of time, but Law & Order SVU has done a pretty good job at it and is still rocking on its 17th year. What happens when the focus of the story shifts from Amaro to Rollins still remains to be seen, Movie News Guide says.
Law & Order: SVU season 17 will return with a two-hour premiere on Sept. 23 and airs every Wednesday at 9 p.m. on NBC.
