'Law & Order: SVU' Season 18 Episode 15: A Rapist Targets the NYPD

Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and her team will take on a rapist and a murderer in the upcoming episode of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."

In the episode titled "Know It All," the synopsis (according to CarterMatt) reveals that the SVU will be tapped to handle a particularly difficult case. A man is being accused of raping and murdering a woman. To avoid capture, he is threatening to expose the secrets of the New York Police Department and its agents. Everyone who will work the case will be targeted.

The promo shows that the culprit is a skilled hacker. In the clip, he is shown calling a woman and telling her he knows every detail about her. Later on, Benson and her squad personally witness the hacking of the police database. Things take a turn for the worse when people end up dying one by one. The suspect is showing the authorities he can play their game and win it too.

Benson is running out of options. She orders her team to find the culprit and end this madness. The situation is escalating quickly and the SVU must do something. Benson must find a way to stop the criminal before it is too late. She must also protect the NYPD. The culprit has committed a cyber crime and he must be captured immediately. There is no telling what he will do with the classified data from the police department's computer system.

In the last episode, the SVU dealt with another rape case. Zoe (Missy Peregrym) was an investment banker at one of the most prestigious firms in New York City. The one who assaulted her was a powerful billionaire. Benson and the others had a tough time proving the crime. The culprit covered his tracks well. There was no way to prove that what happened was not consensual. Zoe was also offered a huge amount of cash to drop the case. In the end, justice prevailed when she took a stand and helped Benson send the rapist behind bars.

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" season 18 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EDT on NBC.
