'League of Legends': Riot Games Drops Two New Champions Xayah and Rakan

Riot Games has revealed two new "League of Legends" champions, Xayah and Rakan. Both characters are now playable on the PTE.

The game developer made the announcement via its social media pages. According to Riot, Raken will fill the role of an agile support while Xayah will be a more strategic ADC. Based on new teasers for the characters, there are uncertainties as to whether the two were distinct champions or if they were something along the lines of Kindred, which means that they are combined into one champion.

As of now, the only thing that's certain is that the duo has a synchronized special recall animation. Riot also teased that "Rakan works best as a lovable distraction" and has the ability to generate a shield. Raken also pairs best with a marksman as he operates in the bottom lane.

Xayah, on the other hand, is known for her feathers. The character attacks from the outskirts of the battle and has the ability to pierce enemies with her basic attacks. After an attack, she leaves feathers on the ground. Riot revealed that when she attacks, players won't notice her at all since she works best when she hides behind a support champion like Rakan.

Xayah activates her passive and empowers her auto attacks through Deadly Plumage. Her Featherstorm ability also allows her to jump into the air while making it impossible for the enemies to target her. When she activates her Bladecaller, all her feathers rush back to her and damage anyone that they hit along the way.

One of Rakan's roles is to protect Xayah from harm while she damages the enemies. The Gleaming Quill lets him toss out a projectile and deal damage, while the Grand Entrance allows him to knock up enemies following a brief pause.

The introduction of Rakan and Xayah to "League of Legends" is the first time since 2010 that Riot Games has dropped two champions in one day.
