'Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath' Updates: Docu-series Investigates David Miscavige's Rise To Power

Two former members of the Church of Scientology finally unveil the real story of how the current leader of the church David Miscavige rose to power in the latest episode of "Leah Rimini: Scientology and the Aftermath" season 2.

In the episode, Remini and her partner Mike Rinder talked to ex-Scientologist John "JB" Brousseau who used to work as the church's late leader L. Ron Hubbard's personal driver. He also reportedly worked as Miscavige's right-hand man before he left the church in 2010.

According to Brousseau, he started asserting his power in the church even before Hubbard passed away in 1986. Some of the examples that he mentioned according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter is his meeting with Hubbard's wife Mary Sue Hubbard that he secretly recorded to force her into losing her power in the church, as well as his decision to ouster Pat Broeker from power after the founder's death.

Brousseau also brought up the topic about "the Hole," which is also known as the property of the church where the powerful Scientologists were reportedly imprisoned. While the church has been constantly denying its existence, Brousseau claimed that he used to be the one who put the bars on the building's doors and blocked all of its windows so it will not open all the way.

He claimed that he was enlightened to leave the church when the ex-wives of past Scientology executives sat down on Anderson Cooper's show "Anderson Cooper 360" in 2010 to deny the allegations of physical abuse committed by Miscavige through their husbands. According to the former Scientologist, he saw all the abuses firsthand.

The other spokesperson is recognized as Gary "Jackson" Morehead, who revealed that he was a former security chief of the church. He claimed that the church officials asked his wife to get an abortion.

Remini's documentary series that airs on A&E recently won the Outstanding Informational Series recognition from the Creative Arts Emmy Award on Saturday, where she mentioned in her acceptance speech that she already forgave her mother for introducing her to the Church of Scientology when she was a child.

A new episode of "Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath" season 2 is slated to air on A&E on Tuesday, Sept. 19, at 9 p.m. EDT.
