'Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild' Director Talks About The Future After The Series' DLC

Recent reports have revealed that "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" director Hidemaro Fujibayashi has expressed some of the future plans for the series following the recent release of the game title's downloadable content (DLC) titled, "Champions' Ballad."

"I can't say at this point if it will be in sequels or in continuations, or what form it will take, but I definitely have lots of ideas and lots of motivation right now," Fujibayashi told IGN. "I think while we were working on both the main game and the DLC, it was a process of constantly getting lots of different, new ideas as we refined the game, and finding new things we wanted to do."

The game's producer, Eiji Aonuma, further expressed that the development of "Champions' Ballad" DLC has led them to realize that they would no longer have to indulge in wishful thinking wherein they would talk about the things they wish they could add in the universe. Instead, the DLC for "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" has led them to realize that it was a great way to enhance the universe and "raise it like your own child."

Further reports indicate that the speculations that rose from the interview from Fujibayashi might be telling in that the fans will want to expect more from the series' beloved characters, including Link and Zelda. There is a possibility that Nintendo might want to add more content and adventures to the series. However, considering that the Nintendo Switch has a storage problem and that the Wii U has reached its end, the gaming giant will have to work on those issues first before they release any new new content for "Legend of Zelda."

In the meantime, fans can enjoy "Legend of Zelda: Champions' Ballad" on Nintendo Switch and Wii U while waiting for an update on what will happen to the series.
