'Legend Of Zelda Wii U' News: Delays Dismay Fans

The excitement of "The Legend of Zelda" coming to Wii U in an open-world format has been tempered by dismay after repeated delays pushed back the arrival of the game.

With news the Wii U version of "The Legend of Zelda" will no longer be making an appearance this year and after having missed the June 2015 E3, fans of the fantasy-action adventure video game have expressed their displeasure at the additional postponement.

While the game's release date continues to be a mystery, with Nintendo listing it in its quarterly report as TBA, rumors have emerged that a graphics issue was behind the delay of its Wii U release.

Reports have emerged Nintendo executives have decided to hold back the Wii U development of the game and work on its existing issues before actually unleashing it on the public and ending up getting negative feedback instead.

Another rumor involves Nintendo's reportedly upcoming NX console and the decision of the company's executives to delay "The Legend of Zelda" Wii U until it could be ported to the NX console, based on the poor sales of the Wii U compared to PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

Changes in graphical styles have also been pinpointed as one of the culprits in the delay and it is still not certain whether Nintendo is holding back this particular version of the game to make room for planned HD graphical modifications.

Nintendo, which has long been known as a company that plays close attention to feedback from fans, took note of requests for a larger scale game environment following the release of "The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword" in 2011, presenting a teaser for "The Legend of Zelda" for Wii U at the 2011 E3.

Despite the heightened anticipation for the Wii U version, the first release delay was announced in March 2015, and having missed the 2015 E3, remains hanging in the balance even as the company asked fans not to be too worried as it is planning to eventually release "The Legend of Zelda" for Wii U.
