Vandal Savage, as he is known in DC Comics, is a "supervillain." He is immortal and with his gift of time travel, he has been moving around the world and across times in order to influence powerful people in history with one end in mind – for him to rule the world. According to the first trailer of the series, Savage is someone who "commands the most powerful army the world has ever seen." Savage is the main villain that the superheroes in "Legends of Tomorrow" will go against.

Another cast member was announced recently and this was Falk Hentschel, who will play the character Carter Hall, who is also known as Hawkman. According to another report in Entertainment Weekly, he is one of the lesser known heroes in DC Comics. He is a reincarnation of an Egyptian prince who is repeatedly reincarnated together with his soulmate Kendra Saunders, also known as Hawkgirl. Both Hawkman and Hawkgirl are able to call on the powers of the Egyptian Hawk God, Horus, to turn them into winged warriors.

Both the characters of Savage and Hawkman, along with the other characters in "Legends of Tomorrow" are set to appear in crossover episodes of both origin series, "Arrow" and "The Flash" before they appear in the series.
