'Legends of Tomorrow' Season 1 Spoilers: Criminals, Misfits, and Heroes Join Together to Save the World
The Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) has Star City to save, and The Flash (Grant Gustin) is responsible for Central City. The cast of "Legends of Tomorrow," however, has a bigger responsibility on their shoulders since their task involves saving the world. The fate of humanity now lies on these criminals, misfits, and heroes in stopping the ultimate villain, Vandal Savage (Casper Crump).
The CW network recently released three new trailers for the upcoming series, and one of the promos released shows how the characters struggled when they were recruited to the team. Ray Palmer/The Atom (Brandon Routh) was saying that the world doesn't need a bunch of nobodies like them, but Sara Lance/White Canary (Caty Lotz) counters him, saying, "Isn't this whole mission about changing the future?" The two characters are rumored to have a romantic relationship, according to Youth Health Mag, but fans have to wait until the show premieres in two weeks if this will really happen.
According to the website, the theme of the series will not be "episodic," like having a bad guy every week, but would rather have a serialized two to four episodes at a time. The team will travel through time via spaceship, so it is just fitting to spend some time in an era that the "Legends of Tomorrow" cast will visit.
The full summary of "Legends of Tomorrow" reads, "In the year 2166, the immortal villain Vandal Savage is the verge of his final victory — total chaos and the utter destruction of humanity. As the world crumbles, the Time Master Rip Hunter takes matters into his own hands; he travels 150 years into the past to assemble a carefully selected team of heroes and rogues to stop him. Hunter has chosen what seems like an ill-matched group: billionaire inventor Ray Palmer, who has created an exo-suit with the power to shrink him to miniscule size, as the Atom; Sara Lance, the White Canary, a trained assassin; Professor Martin Stein and Jefferson "Jax" Jackson, who together form the meta-human Firestorm; Leonard Snart, known as Captain Cold, and his partner Mick Rory , AKA Heat Wave, a pair of career criminals; and Kendra Saunders and Carter Hall AKA Hawkgirl and Hawkman. Together this unlikely group will attempt to stop one of the most formidable villains of all time, while they must learn how to not only be a team, but heroes as well."
Watch "Legends of Tomorrow" on The CW network starting this Jan. 21, Thursday.
