'Legends of Tomorrow' Spoilers: Hawkman and Hawkgirl's Ties to Vandal Savage

The CW's upcoming superhero series, "Legends of Tomorrow," is still four months away and already, spoilers have emerged surrounding the "Arrow" and "The Flash" spinoff.

In the "Legends of Tomorrow" pilot episode for Season 1, Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) and Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee) find out that they have a connection of sorts with the villain, Vandal Savage (Casper Crump), a six-century-old immortal who has manipulated world leaders throughout the history of his existence in his attempt to dominate the world.

Hawkman himself is a reincarnation of an ancient Egyptian prince who is doomed to keep coming back to earth with his soulmate, Kendra. Hawkgirl, whose present name is Kendra Saunders, is only just discovering she is a reincarnation of someone else after wings start growing out of her back when she is provoked.

The rest of the upcoming show's characters, including Firestorm (Victor Garber), The Atom (Brandon Routh), White Canary (Caity Lotz), Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), and Firestorm (Franz Drameh), are recruited by time traveler Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) to help prevent Vandal Savage from decimating the world.

"Mr. Robot" actress, Stephanie Corneliussen has recently been announced to the "Legends of Tomorrow" cast. She will be playing gifted physicist Valentina Vostok who, in the DC Comics version, lives in Cold War U.S.S.R., where she is speculated to be working on a secret weapon against the United States.

When the Legends team travel back in time to intercept her work, they suspect she may be working with Savage, and The Atom and Captain Cold each attempt to seduce her to learn her secrets.

Actor Grant Gustin, who plays Barry Allen, the Flash, on The CW series of the same name, is expected to guest star on "Legends of Tomorrow" during its first season. He will also be joined by "Boardwalk Empire's" Peter Francis James, who will be playing Classics professor, Dr. Aldus Boardman.

"Legends of Tomorrow" will air on The CW starting January 2016.
