'Legends of Tomorrow' Spoilers News: Robbie Amell May No Longer Be Firestorm
DC's "Legends of Tomorrow" is definitely building a strong team on television. The currently confirmed lineup is impressive, and the familiar names will be certainly pulling more audience. Characters that have been featured in the "Arrow" and "The Flash" will be reprising their roles to take on their own adventures. However, the absence of one person will more likely be adamant once the season starts, which would be Robbie Amell.
Robbie Amell, a.k.a. Ronnie Raymond, alongside Martin Stein (Victor Garber), has been introduced as the superhero Firestorm since the character came into the series. However, when the cast for "Legends" was announced, it became a wonder for many why only Garber was mentioned. This became a suspicion for everyone that perhaps Amell won't be reprising his role, unlike many had hoped for. Finally, it was further confirmed when during "The Flash's" second season promo, Firestorm was seen played by Franz Drameh, despite Amell confirming that he will appear in the premiere. Drameh has been confirmed to take part of "Legends;" however, his character has not been revealed until now.
According to Screen Rant, there isn't much explanation as to how Drameh will end up replacing Amell, but it has been confirmed in the promo that his character as Jay Jackson will be the one merging with Martin using the Splicer, which Ronnie used to do. It isn't new in DC that different characters replace established ones to continue on, and it seems Firestorm is no exception as many have stepped up in the comic books to do so. As to the reason why Amell is no longer reprising his role, many think that Ronnie's disappearance will be a main factor in a developing plot for Caitlyn Snow to become a full-fledged villain, while some suggest that it is due to Amell's incredibly busy TV schedule as of the moment.

For now, fans of Amell as Firestorm will have to wait and see if they will get a much-needed closure for his character when "The Flash" season 2 premieres, and further judge whether Drameh's new portrayal will live up to what Amell has established in DC's "Legends of Tomorrrow" when it comes out in 2016.
