The upcoming "Legends of Tomorrow" is being introduced by a two-part series that is an Arrow/Flash crossover.

The plotline of "Legends of Tomorrow" has a unique concept. The team will be traveling through time and getting involved in the biggest game-changing events of the 20th century. These events will have Vandal Savage as the antagonist for the team.

According to Comic Book Resources, at the New York Comic Con, showrunner Phil Klemmer explained the setting of the show. He said, "It takes place on a spaceship that travels through time, and arrives in different eras and locations. It is sort of divided into chapters that are serialized. It's not episodic, bad guy of the week, it is two or three or four episodes in a time period."

He added, "We want to do the greatest hits of the 20th century." He went on to say that that was what made the show fun and exciting, the fact that they were trying to find him at different points in history where it seems like the scales are balanced, "whether that's Cold War, nuclear annihilation or World War II fascism, you name it. If bad s-h-star-star was happening, Vandal was there. The fun of our show is encountering him in these iconic, 20th century crucible moments."

In the Arrow/Flash crossover, Vandal comes to Flash's Central City and targets Kendra Saunders. Barry realizes that Vandal is no run-of-the-mill villain and he takes Kendra to Star City and asks Oliver to hide her while he and his team deal with Vandal.

But Carter a.k.a Hawkman flies off with Kendra and now Oliver and Flash have to hide both Kendra a.k.a. Hawkgirl in a remote place and figure out how to destroy Vandal.

The episode of "The Flash" is titled, "Legends of Today" and will air on Dec. 1 whereas the episode of Arrow is titled, "Legends of Yesterday" and will air the next day on Dec. 2. Both these episodes together will lead viewers into "Legends of Tomorrow" that is scheduled to premiere on The CW in early 2016.
