'Legion' Season 1 Episode 5 Spoilers: Melanie and Crew Are Trapped in David's Mind

David (Dan Stevens) may have already escaped the horrors of his own mind for now but a new threat looms on the horizon in the next episode of "Legion."

In the fifth episode of the Marvel-inspired series, David will continue his search for his sister, Amy (Katie Aselton), and may in the process put everyone else at Summerland in grave danger from the many horrific threats roaming in his mind.

In the official trailer for the next episode, Summerland's head Melanie (Jean Smart) is shown telling everyone to be careful because they may no longer be in the real world, but could instead already be trapped again in David's world.

What other creatures and terrifying secrets will they discover while they explore this strange world? Could they really have entered David's mind without knowing for sure? And who is Lenny (Aubrey Plaza) and why does she keep appearing in and bothering David's mind? Will she pose a threat on the intruders, or will David finally gain the strength to put her under control?

There's also a scene wherein David claims, "My whole life is a lie." What could he mean by this? And who could he be telling this to?

If the next episode will indeed be seeing the Summerland crew exploring David's mind, there is a chance that the viewers will also be able to learn some significant information about the Devil with the Yellow Eyes that has always haunted David's memories.

There is also the possibility that David may still be trapped in the astral plane. Either that, or somewhere down the line he would want to go back on a rescue mission to help Oliver (Jemaine Clement) out of his seemingly self-induced prison.

Could saving Oliver be Melanie's end goal for taking David in and protecting him with everything she's got? Is Oliver really important for a bigger cause, or only because he has the best chance of getting Oliver back from the astral plane?

"Legion" season 1 episode 5 airs on Wednesday, March 8, at 10 p.m. EST on FX.
