'Legion' Season 1 Episode 6 Spoilers: Everybody's Caught in the Chaos of David's Mind in 'Chapter Six'
FX Networks' Marvel-inspired series, "Legion," is inching closer to the end of its eight-episode first run, and the stakes just continue to get higher.
After the previous episode teased the edges of reality and the chaos that is David's (Dan Stevens) mind, the next chapter of this horrific superhero origin series takes the narrative back to where it all began: Clockworks. Making matters worse, the supposedly dead Lenny (Aubrey Plaza) is their doctor, and everybody seems to have lost sight of the world outside David's mind.
It is really hard to figure out what's really going on in a series that's keeping all its precious cards close to its chest until one explosive reveal in the end. What will become of the Summerland team now that they all seem to have fallen under the spell of the Yellow-Eyed Devil (Quinton Boisclair) inside David's head?
The official trailer for the episode teases that Syd (Rachel Keller) may have just retained that curious part of her and will continue to question things in their world, like a door that appears one moment and then is gone the next. Could this be the way out of the world they have been trapped in? What will they have to do to fully access it?
And how close can Syd get to the truth before Lenny gets to her and takes her down? Also, the most important question of all, will David ever be able to regain control of his own mind?
The show's unorthodox storytelling has both confused and intrigued not only the viewers' minds but also its cast's curiosities. In an interview with Digital Spy, actress Jean Smart, who plays Summerland's head, Melanie, revealed that they weren't always completely sure what's going on, or what's going to happen next.
"We would sort of compare notes. 'Did you read the new script? Did you get it? Did you understand?' — and we just decided to give ourselves over to that, let it carry us along like a roller coaster," Smart said.
"Legion" season 1 episode 6 airs on Wednesday, March 15 at 10 p.m. EST on FX.
