'Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Officially Confirmed, Available for Pre-Order from Xbox Store, PlayStation Store
After earlier reports suggested the game's existence and eventual launch, "Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has finally been confirmed and spotted on both the Xbox Store and PlayStation Store.
Earlier reports had cited Amazon listings and leaks hinting at the game's imminent release. On Tuesday, Feb. 3, Lucasfilm finally announced the game at its official "Star Wars" website.
"Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens" comes from the collaboration of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games, The LEGO Group, and Lucasfilm. It's coming to Sony's PS4, PS3, and PS Vita; Microsoft's Xbox One and Xbox 360; Nintendo's Wii U and 3DS; and PC on June 28.
The latest addition to the "Lego Star Wars" series will offer players with new gameplay mechanics. First, there's the Multi-Builds system, which allows players to choose from multiple building options in order to advance in the game. Both heroes and villains will be able to build in this game, which creators hope will make the game more challenging.
In intense Blaster Battles, players can take advantage of the new blaster combat mechanic where players can use surrounding environments to drive back the First Order. The game also offers players with high-speed flight gameplay through arena-based battles and dogfights in space. In addition, new vehicles, including the Millennium Falcon, will be available to players, too.
The game also adds new story content that provides "additional insight" into the movie and its characters. The game will feature the film's cast composed of both new and classic heroes and villains such as Rey, Finn, Han Solo, Chewbacca, BB-8, Kylo Ren, and more. "Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will also take players to Jakku and Starkiller Base.
An exclusive Droid Character Pack and Phantom Level Pack will also be available to PS4 and PS3 owners. No details have been provided about these DLCs at the moment, but more information should come when their release date nears.
