Lenovo Lemon 3 Plus News: Bigger Version Of Lemon 3 To Be Launched At MWC?

With major smartphone manufacturers set to unveil their flagship devices at the MWC 2016 in Barcelona, Lenovo is also joining the fray as the Chinese manufacturer hinted that it will be unveiling a new smartphone at the technology fair. According to Gadgets 360, Lenovo India posted a teaser image on Twitter with the caption: "A gorgeous new device has been engineered from scratch to deliver the #Knockout punch. Brace yourselves."

Although the announcement did not reveal much about what device will be announced, a Tech Times report speculated that Lenovo will be unveiling a larger version of its Lemon 3 smartphone, which was launched recently in China. The device is called the Lemon 3 Plus which is said to be a midrange phone but with a few premium features on board.

The teaser image shows liquid metal being poured into what looks like a smartphone mold, which the report says indicates that the upcoming device will have a premium all-metal body.

Tech Times also gave a rundown of the device's rumored specs. It is said to have a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS screen with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. Under the hood, it will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor. It might also have an Adreno 405 GPU, paired off with 3 GB of RAM.

Like its smaller sibling, the Lemon 3 Plus is rumored to be equipped with a 13-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. Internal storage will be at 16 GB, which is expandable to up to 128 GB via a microSD card slot.

The device may not be sporting the latest Android OS, but will instead have the Android 5.1 Lollipop. It is not yet known if the device will be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

It is likely to be available in the same colors as the Lemon 3 – silver and gold. It is also possible that the device may be announced with another name as the Lemon series is considered exclusive in China.
