'Lethal Weapon' Season 2 Plot Spoilers: Riggs and Murtaugh's Trip To Mexico Will Not Go According To Plan
Events in Mexico may not be what Riggs and Murtaugh have been expecting in "Lethal Weapon" season 2.
Martin Riggs (Clayne Crawford) and Roger Murtaugh (Damon Wayans) headed to Mexico at the first season finale of "Lethal Weapon" to search for Tito Flores (Danny Mora), the person responsible for killing Riggs' wife. But it seems like the duo might have to endure a lot before they can announce that their mission has been accomplished when the show returns for its sophomore season.
In an interview with TV Guide, executive producer Matt Miller revealed that the duo's adventures in Mexico may not go according to plans.
According to Miller, Riggs' actions in the second season against Tito Flores will be fueled with his desire for revenge. This will make him look like a complete lunatic, which is why Murtaugh will be there to stop him from doing something that he will regret.
"So Murtaugh's been down in Mexico this whole time trying to find him, but instead has just been following Tito Flores places, hoping he finds Riggs. That has led to a very expensive Mexican trip that he's been on that his wife is not thrilled about," the executive producer stated.
Miller also stated that Riggs will finally resolve his issue with Tito Flores in season 2, but it will not be what he have been hoping for. Still, it will give justice to his wife's death to some degree.
The executive producer also revealed that Murtaugh will also go through some marital trouble with his wife Trish (Keesha Sharp), which will make him turn to Riggs for help. However, Riggs will not be interested to hear his partner's troubles at home.
Reports also revealed that the new season of "Lethal Weapon" will introduce "Blindspot" alum Michelle Hurd as the duo's new female boss Gina Santos. The series will also feature the guest appearances by "Heroes" star Adrian Pasdar and "CSI: Miami" alum Rex Linn.
Fox will air the premiere episode of "Lethal Weapon" season 2 on Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 8 p.m. EDT.
