'Lethal Weapon' Season 2 Spoilers: Michelle Hurd Debuts, Death Predicted For Riggs

The second episode of "Lethal Weapon" season 2 finally introduces Michelle Hurd in her role as the new police chief. She joins the team in the hopes of controlling Riggs' (Clayne Crawford) shenanigans, whose imminent death has also been predicted.

Hurd's character, Gina Santos, starts her job as the chief in the second episode of "Lethal Weapon" season 2 and her presence will bring a few surprises. For one thing, Santos will be joining Riggs and Murtaugh (Marlon Wayans) out on the field so that she can observe how these partners work. For another thing, Santos and Murtaugh allegedly have a romantic history together, which could make things initially awkward.

The case of the week in "Lethal Weapon" season 2 episode 2 will be about a plastic surgeon whose death opens an investigation into an illegal drug ring. Hilarie Burton reprises her role as DEA Agent Karen Palmer and she will be reunited with Riggs as well.

Meanwhile, "Lethal Weapon" showrunner Matt Miller told TV Guide that he has a pretty good idea of how the show will ultimately end. He said that Riggs might never get over about his taste for vengeance for losing his wife, so Miller predicted that this could determine Riggs' fate.

"I don't know how long this show will last, but I think he should probably die at some point," Miller hinted of a tragic end for Riggs. "Not soon, but at some point, that would be a way to say goodbye to the show."

The show is not in danger of ending just yet as its ratings remain steady. The premiere of the second season received 4.4 million viewers and 52 percent additional viewers in the Live+3 Day airing. The show also has an interesting lineup of guest stars in the coming weeks, such as the pop singer Jojo (Shaye), Adrian Pasdar (Cooper) and Monica Barbaro (Nora).

"Lethal Weapon" airs Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m. EST on FOX.
