LG Spirit, Joy, Leon, Magna Release Date, Specs News: LG Announces 4 Mid-Range Mobile Phones

LG has unveiled four mid-range smartphones with top of the line specs and features normally found in premium handsets. The company unveiled the phones—LG Spirit, LG Leon, LG Joy, and LG Magna—ahead of the MWC 2015 in Barcelona, and the handsets are expected to start rolling out this week.

"LG's new mid-range collection continues our legacy of offering amazing smartphones at reasonable prices," said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG. "For millions of consumers around the world, the deciding factor on which smartphone to buy isn't how fast or how big it is but how balanced it is. With our new mid-range smartphones, more and more customers will be looking to LG for their next handsets."

The LG Magna is the largest and most spec-heavy among the four phones. It measures 5.5 x 2.75 x 0.40 and has a 5-inch screen with pixel density of 294ppi. It comes with 8GB internal memory and has a quad core chip and runs on the Android 5.0 Lollipop. It's equipped with an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera.

The LG Leon measures 5.11 x 2.60 x 0.43 inches and comes with either an 8MP or 5MP rear camera. It will have 8GB internal memory and be powered by either a 1.2 or 1.3GHz quad core CPU, depending on the market. It has a 4.5-inch screen with pixel density of 220ppi.

The LG Joy is the smallest device of the four. It measures 4.83 x 2.52 x 0.47 inches and has a 4-inch display with 233ppi. Just like the Leon, LG will offer different variants of Joy to different markets. The device will run Android Kitkat or Lollipop and have either a dual or quad core processor.

Though LG has not announced additional information about pricing and availability, CNET predicts that the handsets will cost somewhere between $99 to $199 off contract.
