LG G3 vs. Sony Xperia T3 Review: Specs Comparison - Which Device Is Better?

In the market of Android-based smartphones, competition has been pretty stiff the past few years due to the increasing number of manufacturers. Initially, Samsung has been the king of Android-based smartphones but tech companies like Sony and LG have been putting out impressive phones themselves. Sony has the Xperia phone line while LG has only released one of their best to date, the G3. How do the products of these two companies fare against each other?

Bigger displays make bigger appeals but screen resolution also plays a part. The G3 boasts a 5.5-inch QHD display with a screen resolution of 2560 x 1440. The Xperia T3 is less impressive, only with a 5.3-inch display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720.

Both phones can currently run the latest Android 4.4.2 Kitkat OS. The G3 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core 2.5GHz Krait 400 processor while the Xperia T3 only has a Qualcomm MSM8928-2 Snapdragon 400 quad-core 1.4GHz Cortex A-7 processor. By any means, the G3 is more powerful than the Xperia T3.

Internal memory and RAM is also more powerful with the G3, with 16GB and 32GB internal memory variants as well as 2GB and 3GB RAM variants. The Xperia T3 only has 8GB of internal memory and 1GB RAM. Both support external microSD cards with the G3 supporting up to 128GB while the Xperia T3 only supports up to 32GB.

The G3 has a 13-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash with video recording capabilities of up to 2160p @30fps. The Xperia T3 only has an 8-megapixel snapper with a single LED flash capable of only up to 1080p@30fps video recording.

The Xperia T3 goes for around $530 while the LG G3 sells for around $800. These prices are based on GSM Arena's own price list that may differ from different countries on different carriers.

While the Xperia T3 is definitely cheaper than the G3, its specs are only average if not subpar in today's smartphone standards. While the G3 sports a premium price tag, the hardware that comes with it is well worth the money it costs.
