LG G5 Specs News: Here are the Top 5 Alleged Specs of Upcoming LG Flagship

This year, LG was able to follow the success of its highly popular flagship lineup. Launched a few months ago, the LG G4 was a sight to behold, and it boasts some serious specs that would definitely make it a rival for other high-end devices.

As a refresher, the G4 boasts a 5.5-inch display with a whopping QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution, 3GB of RAM, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset. Other features include a 16MP primary camera that has optical image stabilisation and a laser sensor, an 8MP front shooter, 32GB of built-in memory and a microSD card slot.

While the hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chipset was seen as inferior to the Snapdragon 810, it is considered as safer and less prone to overheating. As a result, the G4 still won the hearts of both LG and Android fans across the world.

However, as early as now, there are already rumors pointing to the LG G4's successor. While the normal LG schedule for the release of its devices is one flagship each year, the LG G5 could be announced before the year ends, as mentioned by rumors.

According to rumors and reports, the upcoming LG G5 would sport some of the specs that the previous versions did not have. One of these alleged features is a fingerprint scanner.

In addition, the device would also reportedly boast the freshly announced Snapdragon 820 chipset from Qualcomm, 3GB of RAM, and the same 32GB internal memory that can be expanded through the microSD card slot.

Other notable but rumored specs include a 20MP camera with the same features and can shoot up to 4K videos, an 8MP selfie camera, and a full metal body. Tech websites also claim that the Android-powered handset would come with a sub-3000mAh battery, mainly because a battery that is has 4,000mAh or more would make the phone too thick and heavy.

Based on a statement by insider sources in South Korea, LG has reportedly abandoned its G Pro phablet lineup, but would announce a 'super premium phone' by the end of the year, which brought about the LG G5 rumors.
