LG G5 specs, rumors & update: to come with new processor, 20MP camera & Sony sensor

It hasn't even been a year yet since LG released the smartphone model G4, and now people are beginning to hear rumors about the unit that will replace it in 2016. According to Latin Post, LG's next flagship smartphone is the LG G5, which is expected to make some strong wave in the mobile industry considering how the company has been greatly praised for its predecessors, G3 and G4. There is no official word regarding it but the internet isn't short of any rumors.

As reported by International Business Times, the LG G5 will come with the latest and greatest processor from Qualcomm. The previous units with the Snapdragon 810 had some overheating issues and that's why they replaced it with Snapdragon 808 in the G4. Meanwhile, the rumored smartphone will come with the Snapdragon 820 chipset.

Aside from a new processor, the G5 is expected to sport a great camera as well. Those who have been using the last predecessor can attest how its 16MP camera has produced quality photos. This can only mean that LG G5 will most likely have an upgrade and reports say that it may have a 20MP camera with ½-inch wide sensor that will be custom-built by Sony. It will also be backed with laser autofocus, optical image stabilization and other features, reports TechRez.

The upcoming smartphone in the line is reported to also get an even wider aperture camera since the predecessor had an f/1.8 aperture camera. Fans can only hope that with the upgrade in the photo taker, it will be excellent even in taking photos in low-light and will produce vibrant colors. Other reports say that the G5 will not come with a fingerprint scanner, but instead, it will come with an iris scanner.

At this point, Android Headlines believes it's too early to say more about the LG G5 but one thing is for sure—the South Korean company is already working on it. It is rumored to come around sometime in the middle of 2016.
