LG G6 vs Galaxy S8 Specs Comparison: Can Samsung Galaxy S8 Surpass LG G6's Popularity?

Samsung is reportedly feeling threatened by the success of LG G6. Currently, LG's flagship is dominating the smartphone world. As the South Korean tech giant gears up for the release of the Galaxy S8, tech enthusiasts are excited to know if the upcoming device will manage to be on par with the LG G6.

According to reports, the Galaxy S8 comes with features that will not only entertain tech enthusiasts but will also steal attention away from the current flagship handset of LG.

Recently, KB Securities analyst Kim Dong-won reported that the LG G6 had sold 20,000 units on its first day on the market. This was a first for LG since none of its predecessors had as many units sold on their first selling day. Even when compared with Samsung's most popular devices, the LG G6 still sits at the top. In fact, its first day sales were up two times and four times higher than the sales of the Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy A5, respectively. Because of its success, the mobile arm of LG is expected to recover by a long shot this year after a rough 2016.

Samsung is reportedly going to release the Galaxy S8 in its attempt to prevent LG from dominating the mobile industry. Recently, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo noted that considering how successful the LG G6 has been, Samsung can't be so certain that the Galaxy S8 will be able to bring down its biggest competitor yet.

As for their specs, the LG G6 comes with a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor and 4 GB of random-access memory (RAM). On the other hand, Galaxy S8 will have a 5.8-inch Quad HD dual-edge display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip and 4 GB of RAM.

For their cameras, the LG G6 features a 13-megapixel (MP) rear camera and 5-MP front shooter, while the Galaxy S8 will reportedly have a 12-MP rear camera and 8-MP front shooter.

Mobile phone users have yet to see how this competition turns out when the Samsung Galaxy S8 is finally out in the market.
