Other specs on the handset include a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, NFC (near-field-communications), 1080p video recording, 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front camera, 2GB RAM, microSD slot, and a 2,500 mAh battery. It comes in both black and white.

LG also announced the release of its new L3 2 smartphone in a press release last month.

The new device is the successor to the original L3 and recently launched in Brazil.

"The Optimus L3 2 is a versatile phone for the smart and stylish individual," said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. "Its improved user experience makes this an attractive device for customers who want to express their sense of style without sacrificing functionality."

Specifications on the Optimus L3 2 include a 1GHz Single Core processor, a 3.2-inch QVGA display, 512MB RAM, 4GB of internal memory, a 3-megapixel camera, 1,540mAh battery, and runs Android 4.1.2, JellyBean. The operating system appears to be the main selling point of the handset.

LG also hopes to attract buyers with the L3 2's design.

"Optimus L3 2 advances the styling and convenience of the original Optimus L3 smartphone with a new flair that complements its user experience," wrote LG. "The Optimus L3 2 continues LG's design heritage with four new elements that make the device eye catching and fun to use."
