LG V10 vs LG G4: Is the Bigger Phone the Better Device?
Since LG unveiled the new LG V10, the first smartphone in the V lineup has already been pitted against other flagship smartphones, including the LG G4.
The LG V10 and the LG G4 both come from the same mother phone, thus they share a few similarities. Fans would have to examine the two LG units more closely to decide which one is more suited for their needs and preferences, according to Pocket Lint.
In terms of design, the stainless steel-framed LG V10 is bigger with a measurement of 159.6 x 79.3 x 8.6 millimeters and weight of 192 grams. The LG G10, which comes with an optional leather skin cover, measures 148.9 x 76.1 x 6.3-9.8 millimeters and weighs 155 grams. Those who prefer durability over aesthetics should go for the V10 because it has a Dura Frame with more shock resistance, Value Walk reports.
When it comes to the display, the LG V10's dual screen is a far cry from the LG G4's 5.5-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. Although the latter boasts of sharper colors, the V10's 5.7-inch screen comes with a second display that has a resolution of 160 x 1040 pixels.
The hardware of the LG V10 is almost the same with the LG G4. Both run the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, but the V10 has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage expandable via microSD slot. The G4, on the other hand, has 32 GB of storage. Both units are powered by removable 3,000 mAh batteries, but the V10 has a fingerprint scanner, which the G4 does not have, the report relays.
The LG V10 boasts of two 5-megapixel front snappers that allow the user to take either the normal 80-degree selfies or the 120-degree shot suited for group shots. The LG G4 sports one 8-megapixel front camera. Both devices have 16-megapixel rear cameras with laser autofocusing, but the newer phone's video camera is more superior. All three lenses can be used to shoot video at the same time and control shutter speed, white balance, frame rate, and other video settings, the report details.
Both LG phones run on the Android Lollipop customized for LG, so it may all come down to the price. The LG G4 comes with a price tag of $637, while the price of the LG V10 still has not been revealed.
