Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have reportedly split and called off their wedding, more than one year after the pair first got engaged.

The former Disney star, 19, fueled recurring split rumors on Saturday when she abruptly unfollowed Hemsworth, 23, on social networking site Twitter. A source claims that after careful consideration the Hollywood stars decided to part ways for now.

"It's a complicated relationship. The wedding is on hold, for now. It's not cancelled but it doesn't look promising," the source explained.

Fans were left stunned on Sept. 14 when Cyrus unfollowing the "Hunger Games" actor in the wake of new cheating rumors. Hemsworth has been linked to actress January Jones, 35, since February and while his rep recently denied romance rumors, Cyrus was appeared to express her feelings on the matter on Twitter.

"She unfollowed him to send him a message that she's serious about being done this time," a source told HollywoodLife.com. "They've had fights before but they've always kept it secret, so it's been easy to go back and forth."

Hemsworth, who proposed to Cyrus in 2012 after four years of dating, is reportedly fed up with her erratic behavior following her disastrous MTV VMAs performance on Aug. 25. The "We Can't Stop" singer was widely criticized for her over-the-top, lewd dance routine.

"Liam really does care about Miley, but her racy new look and sort of ghetto attitude isn't exactly what he signed up for," another source said.

"Her VMA performance absolutely mortified him and he couldn't be more embarrassed. He doesn't really see anything sexy about what she did on stage," the source added.

In recent weeks Hemsworth has reportedly been pressured by outsiders to end his engagement to Cyrus. Friends and family reportedly urged him to cut ties and move on for good.

"All of his family and management are begging him to break it off and publicly move on," the source revealed.

"He is over her and wants to make a clean break," another source said. "No more back and forth."
