'Life Is Strange: Before the Storm' Release Date: Story Trailer Teases Chloe's Troubles, Mysterious New Friend
A story trailer for the highly anticipated "Life Is Strange: Before the Storm" has been released on Gamescom, teasing what fans can expect in the spinoff.
The game is set prior to the events of "Life is Strange." Max will not be prominently be featured here because it will focus on Chloe and her friend Rachel.
"Life Is Strange: Before the Storm" will allow players to learn more about Chloe. In the clip, she is miserable about home life. Her dad is not around and hates her mom who is with someone else named David.
One day, she meets a mysterious girl named Rachel, who changes her life forever. She takes her to places in Arcadia Bay she has not seen before and suddenly, she does not feel alone in the world anymore.
However, in true "Life Is Strange" fashion, things will not stay as dandy as they are for the two. Rachel warns her of leaving someday as she explores the world out there and it looks like she will keep her word.
The trailer does not provide anything with regard to the actual gameplay for "Life Is Strange: Before the Storm" as it focused on the story it will revolve around.
On that aspect of "Life Is Strange: Before the Storm," the only thing confirmed is that Chloe will be able to incite confrontations with other characters using the "Backtalk" option.
Deck Nine did tease that the game will follow a narrative in which choices and consequences will play a role on the fate of players so they can end up in one of the multiple endings.
The "Life Is Strange" spinoff will also give gamers the chance to "make your mark on the world with witty tags and drawings" and even choose what Chloe will wear and see how people will react to it.
"Life Is Strange: Before the Storm" will be released in three installments. The first, titled "Awake," will be out already on Aug. 31.
